Kill Kare is a private and restful vacation spot and a perfect base from which to explore nearby Blue Hill, Deer Isle, Isle au Haut, Stonington, Castine, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Do as little or as much as you wish on the beautiful Down East Coast of Maine. Sitting on the generous porch - which faces west - you feel as though you are on your own private yacht while enjoying lovely sunsets. A small private dock allows access to the lake for swimming and boating. We are so fortunate to have loons and eagles – among other waterfowl - on the lake. The stars at night are so bright that they practically leap out of the sky. Sit on the dock, find the constellations and count the shooting stars.

In our fully equipped kitchen you can cook up a memorable meal of freshly caught seafood with locally grown produce from a nearby farmers’ market and enjoy it in our wood-paneled dining room - or eat alfresco at the picnic table on the porch.

Cozy up in front of a fragrant wood fire in our large fieldstone fireplace. Read a book, play a game (we have a selection of family board games), listen to your iPod on our stereo and feel the stress of everyday life slip away.
