In general, for a monthly fee, the caretaker will visit your home regularly throughout the year to keep an eye out for your property against conditions which may adversely effect your property. As part of that monthly fee, they generally handle the minor repairs and issues that arise at your property. While A Better View, Vacation Rental staff will likewise keep and eye out on your property needs, A Better View Rental is more geared towards issues which effect guests stay (home cleanliness, supplies, oversight of amenities, scheduling repairs, etc), while the caretaker is generally more skilled to handle mechanical and maintenance issues that arise. For additional fees, the caretaker will often attend to more time intensive issues that may need attention. Some caretakers provide additional services for lawn care, firewood, painting, trash removal, weeding, etc. Below is a listing of preferred Property Caretakers by A Better View, Vacation Rental - Al Lash with Lash Caretaking, and Donnie Hale with Hale Caretaking. Both Al and Donnie provide year-round caretaking at a low monthly rate of $50/month. They will visit your vacation home regularly, providing supervision of your property year-round, including the harsh winter months and busy rental season. They will also visit your property after extreme weather events. Having been affiliated with A Better View, Vacation Rental since its inception, both of these gentleman work closely with us to provide conscientious care of your property. For Deer Isle/Stonington: Lash Caretaking, Al Lash, 207-367-2752:, Al is a retired professional plumber, well skilled in home repair and maintenance. For an additional $10/rental week during the rental season, Al will also remove all guests trash following each rental stay. Al is also well skilled in opening and closing of properties that close down during the winter months. For the Blue Hill Peninsula Region: Hale Caretaking, Donnie Hale, 207-326-4033: Donnie Hale has wide ranging experience in home remodeling, professional caretaking, lawn care, landscaping and firewood services. Additionally, Donnie also makes furniture and picnic tables.
